“Decolonizing Appearance” at CAMP / Center of Art on Migration Politics has been extended, running from January 15 to the March 30, 2019. The exhibition guest curated by Nicholas Mirzoeff opened on September 21, has received rave reviews and has been our most popular exhibition yet.
We look forward to continuing this exhibition that brings together some of contemporary art’s most engaged individuals and collectives from across the globe, it asks: How do the colonized and the colonizer appear to each other? How can the colonized have the right to look, the right to be seen – in short, the right to appear? What would happen when appearance is decolonized?
