Join us in CAMP / Center for Art on Migration Politics for an afternoon with talks and performances exploring different aspects of the politics of forced deportation through the key concept deportspora.

PROGRAM:
2–2:10: Welcome / by Frederikke Hansen and Tone Olaf Nielsen (CAMP and Trampoline House)
2:10–2:40: Road Movie / performance by Ghazel (artist, Iran/France) inspired by stories collected from Afghan and Iranian undocumented migrants ‘in transit’ in Paris, followed by Q & A session
2:40–3:25: Diaspora of deportees: the case of young Afghan men / talk by Shahram Khosravi (Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology, Stockholm University), followed by Q & A session
3:25–3:40: Coffee and snack break
3:40–4:25: Jus Sanguinis: Violence and racism towards migrant pregnant women and minors / artist presentation by Daniela Ortiz (artist, Peru/Spain) discussing the migration control systems of 'Jus soli' (birthplace citizenship) and 'Jus sanguinis' (bloodline citizenship), followed by Q & A session
4:30–4:50: Verses in Exile / spoken word performance by Kosal Khiev (poet, tattoo artist, artist-in-residence with Studio Revolt, USA/Cambodia) about prison incarceration and forced deportation, followed by Q & A session

At SMK: National Gallery of Denmark, you can during the vacation see the exhibition Migration Politics, curated by CAMP and featuring art works portraying personal experiences of migrating and addressing structural causes of displacement.

Be sure to stop by CAMP and Trampoline House tonight for Culture Night. The program is awesome:
6–7 pm: Syrian dinner
7–7:30 pm: Introduction to the history and mission of Trampoline House
7:30–8 pm: Presentation by CampLeaks, an online platform documenting conditions in the Danish asylum centers, where asylum seekers can publish photos and videos anonymously
8–9 pm: "Climate Refugees and Visual Politics," a talk by T.J. Demos (Professor, History of Art and Visual Culture, UC Santa Cruz) on the politics and representations of environmental migration
9–10 pm: Guided tour in CAMP's current exhibition "Deportation Regime: Artistic responses to state practices and lived experience of forced removal"
10 pm–12 am: Bar and dancing

2 x CAMP openings today!

This is a special day for CAMP. Please join us for two CAMP exhibition openings today in two different venues! At 4 pm, SMK: National Gallery of Denmark invites the public to the opening of Migration Politics: Three CAMP exhibitions at the SMK. The exhibition is a retrospective of three previous exhibitions curated by and shown in CAMP from 2015–16. From 6–11 pm, CAMP invites the public to the opening its new exhibition Deportation Regime with a brand new performance by Daniela Ortiz, outdoor soup kitchen, and dance party! All are welcome to join both opening events from 3:30–11 pm! See the full program here.
