In conjunction with the exhibition Homeless Souls, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is hosting a literature and film event curated by CAMP.
Experience author and human rights advocate Behrouz Boochani, who via Skype will talk about his award-winning novel No Friend But the Mountains which was written in the form of text messages from one of Australia's infamous asylum centers, Manus Island detention facility.
Filmmaker Arash Kamali Sarvestani will be present to introduce Chauka, Please Tell Us the Time, the film he and Behrouz Boochani made together using Behrouz’ cell phone footage from Manus Island.
There will also be a screening of the film Cast Away Souls about the Danish deportation center Sjælsmark, directed by asylum activist Stanley Edward, German filmmaker Markus Fiedler, and Danish visual artists Nanna Katrine Hansen and Thomas Elsted, followed by a Q & A facilitated by author Liv Nimand Duvå on similarities between Danish refugee policy and the Manus Island Detention Centre.
